Abstract
The present paper aims at presenting the corpus Co.Cor (ComplimentCorpus), a database consisting of both the audio and video recordings and the transcriptions (according to AVIP-conventions) of (semi-)authentic interactions, in which compliments and compliment responses are elicited. Co.Cor is a multilingual corpus containing data in different languages, mostly in Italian and German. In the online version of the database, beside full text searches, it is possible to use several metadata to limit and select query results. The paper also describes an empirical investigation of Italian university GFL-students and shows how corpora like Co.Cor may be employed by teachers and learners in order to promote foreign language pragmalinguistic competences.
