Abstract
The paper suggests a new textual supplement in a fragmentary papyrus text (P. Oxy. 2445, fr. 1, col. 2, line 15 = Pindar Fr. 70 v. 40 Snell-Maehler). Instead of θεάμα]τ’ (Snell's supplement) read ὄμμα]τ’: the word alludes to the power of the eyes of the Gorgon .
