Abstract
[Machine translation] The 12th century Old French prose translation (from the Walloon area) of the Sermons on the Canticle of the Canticles of Saint Bernard was known, so far, in only one manuscript, Nantes, Musée Dobrée, 5 (N), which preserves only the text of sermons 1-44. It was therefore natural to consider the translation as incomplete. The appearance on the antiques market of a fragment (R) containing part of the translation of Sermon 77 changes the framework of knowledge about this text and its circulation. The article aims to present the new witness (fragmentary), to demonstrate that R and N are two partial witnesses of the same text, concluding on some broader considerations on the tradition of prose translations of spiritual texts from North-East d'Oïl.
