Abstract

[Machine translation] This research aims to fill a gap that can still be found in the reception in Italian of the poetic work of the French author Robert Desnos (Paris, 1900-1945). In the wake of the serial semantics proposed by Henri Meschonnic, of the translation understood as a full-fledged work and not a mere compendium of the original under the auspices of Franco Buffoni and according to the vision of Lawrence Venuti, with the overcoming of the translator's pretended invisibility, we have proposed a first full translation in Italian of the posthumous poetic collection Destinée Arbitraire (1975), which embraces the poet's entire production, and presents a section dedicated to jargon poems. The translation, accompanied by an apparatus of notes, is preceded by a theoretical reflection on the translation of the text and on the poetics of Desnos. The investigation conducted in the avant-garde world of the early twentieth century proved necessary, insofar as the author represents, at times, its fulcrum, and offers his militant poetry first to surrealist anti-poetry, then to the struggle of the Spanish republicans and, finally, to the cause of resistance. The analysis of verbal architecture has highlighted some compositional procedures in line with the musical field and, in particular, the notion of syncope, which the author, music and film critic, as well as art in general, uses to keep the reader's attention alive and interrupt a series of variations on the same theme, as well as some generative structures in relation to the principle of parallelism. Again, as a subversion of language, we must read the défigement and the déproverbialisation, which, by grafting mechanisms of rupture into consolidated rhythmic models, contribute to the action of demystifying conventions and prejudices, carried out, with consistency and constant humor, by the author, up to the fight against Nazi oppression, which will see him succumb to the Terezin camp.
