Abstract

[Machine translation] Within the reborn tragic tradition, Sophocles stands out as a tragic model for the creation of a notion of modern tragedy which, on the one hand, is based on the technique of ad litteram translation of ancient Greco-Roman plays (Sophocles and Euripides in particular), on the other hand on the notion of re-elaborating ancient texts, in order to overcome the Classics in order to constitute an autonomous theater at the heart of The French language is about a new theorization of reborn tragedy, which aims at the emerging of tragedy biblical. In this perspective, we can see the re-development of Antigone by Calvy de La Fontaine (1542), which, while being faithful to the Sopholean model, links the ancient myth through the prism of a Catholic theological reflection on the concept of love, in particular family love, through a citational weaving of scriptural texts, from the Psalms to the New Testament.
