Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to present the first results of interdisciplinary
research that aims at understanding whether Turin has the assets and skills
to build and manage a local food system, following a territorial approach.
This analysis goes beyond a previous step of deconstructing the
relationships between the “smart city” discourse and food policies and
practices, which were presented in 2013 at the Fifth AESOP Conference
on Sustainable Food Planning, in Montpellier, France (Dansero, Barbera,
and Toldo 2013).
In the first step of the research, presented here, ongoing food-related
practices and processes in the Turin metropolitan area are interpreted
through the conceptual framework of resilience.
