Abstract
[Machine translation] We are so used to thinking of the plot of novels as the fruit of the actions of a series of individual characters, that we rarely notice the cloud of collective characters that accompanies it, with functions and attributions of varying relevance to the story. In the case of the three Don Quixotes, the two by Cervantes and the apocryphal sequel by Avellaneda, the analysis of the typology of collective characters and the tasks assigned to them by the narrators will allow us to measure the technical and aesthetic distance between the narrative art of the two authors.
