Abstract

any physical or biological phenomena deal with the dynamics of interacting particles (of inert matter or living being). These classes of phenomena are well described in physics using a kinetic approach based on Boltzmann equation and in biology with a generalized kinetic theory (kinetic theory for active particles). In general, the analytical solutions of the related models are missing thus become extremely relevant the development of numerical approaches. The particle method are a class of numerical methods used to find a numerical solution of Boltzmann equations. The MWF-method for kinetic equations was firstly proposed by S. Motta and J. Wick in 1992 and recently generalized for the equations system case. The aim of this talk is to overview the method and its applications in biology, physics and astronomy.
