Abstract
It turns out from this study that the total length of the calcaneus, the height of its posterior face, and the maximum height of the rear portion on the bone, are proportional to the calf index and therefore to the development of the triceps surae. The investigations carried out on the partial lengths suggest that all the proportionalities which have been evidenced depend upon the upper and the rear portions of the bone, that is, those parts of the calcaneus which are closer to the insertion of the Achilles tendon.
