Abstract

[Machine translation] The subject of this article is a pragmatic and contrastive analysis of the American series The Big Bang Theory. The starting point is a particular type of speech act, which Wunderlich describes as erotetic and which relates to the action of the question. The pragmatic functions of this type of speech act in related language discourse will be highlighted through a qualitative and quantitative analysis based on a comparison of the German-language and Italian editions. The first seven episodes of the seventh season of The Big Bang Theory serve as a corpus.
