N2 - The polycondensation of bis ( beta -dialkylaminoketone)s, i. e. bis(Mannich bases) with bis amines to poly( beta -aminoketone)s has been investigated. An alternative route to the same polymers starting from diiodomethyl derivative of bis(Mannich bases) has been studied. The stereochemistry of some monomers and polymers has been determined by **1**3C n. m. r. (nuclear magnetic resonance). The thermal properties of some poly( beta -aminoketones)s have also been studied.
