Abstract

[Machine translation] In recent decades, the question has arisen of defining holy tragedy as a specific literary genre. This was a problem that Renaissance authors had already faced, evaluating the tragedy of biblical tragedies on the basis of Aristotelian Poetics data. But modern critics, who, beginning in the nineties, have repeatedly dealt with the tragic model and structure in French Renaissance literature, have not only re-examined the question of defining the genre of holy tragedy, but has also studied the problem of intertextuality for a genre that is located at a veritable crossroads of influences.
