Abstract
[Machine translation] This paper reconstructs the historical events that led to the martyrdom of Nagasaki in 1597. In addition, we study the textual tradition of the Relationship that Don Francisco Tello, governor and captain general of the Philippines, sent of six Spanish friars of the Order of Saint Francis who crucified those of Japan this coming year of 1597 and of the Italian translation by Angelo Celestino da Montecorvino. After an analysis of the main translation strategies, both the Castilian original and the Italian translation are edited.
