Abstract
[Machine translation] Most studies on the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern era in France focus on the dynamics of the resurgence of Bonae Litterae between the 14th and 16th centuries. Less extensive and less systematic research was carried out on the reception of medieval cultural heritage in the 16th and 17th centuries. In recent decades, two facets of this question have been occasionally addressed: on the one hand, the circulation of medieval texts in Early Modernity and the vitality of certain formal aspects of medieval literature; on the other hand, the emergence of historical interest in the Gothic roots of French institutions, literature, and traditions. This article retraces the research paths undertaken in the last few decades around this vast but still relatively neglected subject, by identifying the critical approaches adopted, the fields of investigation studied and the areas that, to date, still need to be addressed.
