Abstract
Compromessi di principio (2018) holds that only an objectivist perspective can properly grant the legitimacy of a liberal society. This approach, Bistagnino claims, is hospitable to pluralism but ensures that members of a liberal society achieve an agreement either by appealing to experts or by acknowledging that only a compromise can address their disagrements. Though the role of experts and compromise is fundamental in a liberal society, I raise some concerns regarding the relationship between these features and the objectivist framework developed by Bistagnino.
