Abstract
[Machine translation] Italy in 1814-1866 can be considered as a preferred geographical area for comparison as a method of drawing up codes; probably, in Europe, one of the areas most affected by this phenomenon. Some thirty major collections of legislation were enacted there, which can be linked to the category of “modern” codes: the codes promulgated from the Restoration until 1859 by the various “pre-unitary” states, then the first codes of the unitary Kingdom, dating from 1865-1866. All these codes are the result of extensive comparative activity, characterized by certain specificities, sometimes leading to “legislative ready-to-wear” phenomena.
