Abstract

[Machine translation] In this book, preceded by a series of partial essays, the author offers a double reading proposal that goes in the direction of a “courtesanization” of the Lopesco theatrical message, specifically the one that corresponds to the repertoire of urban comedy: on the one hand, she isolates and analyzes some mechanisms for the construction of the dramatic and poetic text that have a lot to share with the epic, even in a very broad sense. In fact, it is a transposition of the language and values of the epic to the universe of love, as the long-awaited Stefano Arata had suggested at the time. On the other hand, in an intimate relationship with these mechanisms, it identifies the voice of the poet Aedo who, through panegyrical references and authorial masks, breaks the dramatic illusion to capture the benevolence of the illustrious senate that attends the premieres in representative spaces that are not necessarily those of the comedy pen. The two aspects are closely related, as the Phoenix, who was an attentive connoisseur of the epic, well knew.
