Abstract
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) of human brain is an interesting tool to evaluate the physiophatology of epilepsy, although its use in epileptic patients has been limited by the risk of provoking seizures. Our purpose was to assess the risk of triggering a seizure in a population of epileptic patients, who underwent to single and double pulse TMS studies. None of our 89 patients developed a seizures during or 24 hours after TMS. In epileptic patients TMS may be considered a safe technique.
