Abstract
The contribution is focused on the role played by the CAL (Local Authorities Council) in the Italian local authorities system, in the light of the recent attempts to reform the Italian Constitution. A special attention is given to the relation between the new form of local representation of the Senate draw by the constitutional reform Boschi-Renzi and the linking function of local authorities and regions played by the CAL.
