Abstract
A simple device to form solid lipid nanoparticles from warm O/W microemulsions was developed. Precise control of temperature, drop dimensions and delivery rate of the microemulsion was achieved, obtaining reproducible nanoparticle dispersions. Experimental design was applied to study the effect of five experimental factors on the average diameter and size distribution of the lipid nanoparticles obtained from three different microemulsions. The results showed that the five experimental parameters as well as the microemulsion composition affected the average diameter and size distribution of solid lipid nanoparticles.
