Abstract
The effect of suloctidil (1-(4-isopropylthiophenyl)-2-n-octylaminopropanol) on increased blood viscosity was studied in healthy volunteers after forearm occlusion. A significant reduction of blood viscosity was observed in subjects treated 1 day before, or immediately before, the ischaemic trial. It is concluded that the drug may preserve the deformability of erythrocytes during an ischaemic episode.
