Abstract
This paper concerns the difficulties of discussing, evaluating and exploiting internationally the findings of local research studies. We claim that each research study is framed within a cultural background and that the reference to this background is necessary to reconstruct the sense of the study. As an example, we outline a project of teacher education (the MMLab-ER project) and the cultural background where the project was developed by our research team. This framing may explain which findings of the studies developed within the project are likely to be exploited internationally by other researchers and which are not, as they are too strongly dependent on the cultural background.
