Abstract

The reliability of Critikon 2020 Redox Monitor in normal subjects and different clinical settings was evaluated. A bilateral recording was performed in all the subjects to evaluate asymmetries in the signal collection and in the cerebral blood volume (CBV) measurement. The values of rSO2 in the normal range recorded in comatose patients and in the absence of blood flow (brain death) indicated problems in the algorithm designed to filter extracranial signal or in the quality of the received signal.
