Abstract

With transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) we studied a 26 years old patient with hemimegalencephaly. TMS disclose some alterations of cortical excitability in both the hemispheres; moreover in the hemimegalendephalic side we observed an enlargement of the representation of the motor cortex and a different orientation of the neuronal fibres. This data could represent the expression of the morphological and cytoarchitectural abnormalities observed in this syndrome.
