Abstract
[Machine translation] The Fetonte (Domenico De Totis and Alessando Scarlatti, Naples, 1685) is one of the most significant examples of the adaptation for the Italian musical scene of the courtly theater of Calderón de la Barca. The research aims to deepen the structural and stylistic analysis of the piece —already partially studied by philologists and musicologists— based on the relationship of intertextuality established with the direct Spanish source (El Hijo del Sol Phaetón) and in the light of the features of the operatic genre in the second half of the 17th century.
