N2 - The title compounds are diterpenoids isolated from the Himalayan yew (Taxus wallichiana Zucc.). The crystal structures allow us to rationalize some peculiar features of the NMR data of the taxane 4(20)-epoxides. Conformational differences between epoxide, olefintype and oxetane-type compounds like paclitaxel are summarized.
