Abstract
Allegri analyses the experience of the Piedmont region with regard to the training and support of voluntary guardians of unaccompanied migrant minors, whilst also highlighting the role assumed by Universities and the original methodology adopted, through inter-disciplinary activity, the inter-linking of theory and practice and inter-institutional collaboration. The work analyses the construction process of the many activities, coordinated by the Piedmontese Universities, in agreement with the Regional Ombusdman for Children and Adolescents, within the framework of a convention stipulated between various bodies and institutions. The model takes the form of training courses, support groups and self-help groups for named voluntary guardians, refresher and training courses for professionals, reserved access for guardians to a platform of the University of Turin and to a regional platform on migration, awareness-raising activities aimed at the general public in collaboration, from 2022, with the Association of Voluntary Guardians of UAMs—Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta.
