TURISMO AL CENTRO, FUORI DAL CENTRO. SPAZI, LUOGHI E COMUNITÀ IN ALTO PIEMONTE

[Machine translation] The contribution presents the results of research conducted in the territory of the province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, in upper Piedmont, aimed at analyzing active initiatives and projects in the field of participation and integration of resources and local communities in tourism promotion, especially in marginal or “minor” places located outside the most attractive and well-known centers. The objective is to offer a frame of reference relating to the mapping of existing experiences, the identification of good practices and the connections between the various local actors, including public bodies, associations and private operators, who are moving towards strengthening the synergies essential for a more sustainable and inclusive tourism. Thus, emphasis is given to local projects, based on dialogue and collaboration between interested parties, which have resulted in shared actions capable of rediscovering and giving value to the cultural, natural and historical heritage of the territory in their material and immaterial dimensions. These are initiatives that, taken together, make it possible to aim, and hopefully, to pursue a path of collective growth, supporting the redevelopment of urban and rural spaces, the improvement of the quality of life for residents and visitors, the proposals to (re) put “at the center”, valuing what already exists and making a connection between the experiences taking place “outside the center”. The analysis conducted is part of the research path of the TOEP Spoke3 flagship project of the PNRR NODES project, of which the author is scientific director.
