Abstract
[Machine translation] The Latin syllable has been the subject of numerous linguistic studies, which have exhaustively described its structure and have highlighted its fundamental relevance in the framework of the functioning of the accent algorithm of the language. Few researches, however, have provided quantitative data to support theoretical reflections on the subject, and even among these, the analysis has often been conducted on a limited number of variables and without combining data of various kinds. The present study outlines an overview of the types of syllables actually attested in the Latin lexicon and provides some quantitative data about their distribution in relation to different metric-prosodic parameters, primarily the lexical accent and the syllabic structure of the word.
