Abstract
We describe a 19-year old woman, with a previous diagnosis of Idiopathic Partial Epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes. During pregnancy (fifth month), this patient developed a status epilepticus with partial seizures and negative myoclonus of the right arm, whose EEG correlate were pseudorythmic low voltage positive centrotemporal spikes. The clinical picture was complicated by severe anemia due to thalassemia minor and iron deficiency. Remission was obtained by administration of diphenylhydantoin (0.3 g/die). Other major AEDs were uneffective.
