Abstract

[Machine translation] Considering that Calderón uses the character of the mother in works that stage the “universe of exceptionality”, as Caamaño Rojo has certainly pointed out, the present work offers some significant examples of the figure of the father, identifying some recurring typologies, namely: that of the dehumanized father, that of the good father, that of the father who is absent as an obstacle or assistant to the children -all in serious theater- and that of the father of tragedy in the comedy of cloak and sword
