Abstract

[Machine translation] The article presents the results of a participated research, which aimed at the identification of measures for the prevention of the exposure of animal farm workers to antimicrobial resistant bacteria. In fact, together with the inappropriate use of antimicrobials in people, their excessive use in animals, as well as the lack of compliance with hygiene and biosafety practices during farming are the main risk factors for the spread of antimicrobial resistance in society. Consequently, raising awareness and training of farmers are crucial for the protection of public health. In this study, expert knowledge, in the fields of veterinary and social sciences, and farmers’ practical knowledge were integrated into a scientific and operational perspective, which agrees with the One Health approach to epidemiology and public health.
