Abstract
[Machine translation] In this essay, the author reflects on the new measure to combat poverty introduced by the Meloni government, the Inclusion Check, which will replace Citizenship Income. The author considers that with this repeal, Italy has been deprived of a measure of guaranteed minimum income, strongly recommended by the European Union as one of the most effective methods to combat poverty and promote social integration. The new measure, in fact, no longer guarantees a free and dignified existence to all people in conditions of poverty, as required by the Italian constitution, but only to the members of those families whose families have a minor, an elderly person or a disabled person. The outcome will be a decisive increase in poverty and inequalities, making Italy poorer overall.
