Abstract
[Machine translation] A natural fiber with a long history and a thousand uses, hemp has been the protagonist of a phenomenon that has returned to the Alps for some years. Some examples of the reintroduction of hemp farming have revealed positive effects not only in agriculture, but also in culture and society. This is the story of the SaTiVa project, an initiative created from below in the territory of Verbano Cusio Ossola, in the Piedmontese highlands, which in a short time has been able to create a network of local and supranational subjects motivated and interested in the challenge of a new rooting of sativa hemp in the Alps.
