Abstract
[Machine translation] In line with the renewed interest in the study of Roman law in non-legal sources, the essay offers a comparison between the treatment on the subject of adoptio and adrogatio carried out, respectively, by Gellio in the nineteenth chapter of the fifth book of the Attic Nights and by Gaius in the corresponding places of the Institutions. The analysis of the related texts makes it possible to make some considerations on the writing style and on the working method of both authors and to propose the Sabinian ancestry of a source probably common to Gellio and Ulpiano.
