Abstract
[Machine translation] This article focuses on the existential consequences of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) if it leads to sexual violence and pregnancy. The goal is to explore the drama of a pregnancy following violence. Two concepts are introduced that support the importance of promoting adequate intervention and prevention strategies. The concept of violated motherhood concerns situations in which the target of physical or psychological violence, typically by a partner or someone with whom an interpersonal relationship is taking place, is a pregnant woman. The concept of imposed pregnancy refers to those forms of violence in which the victim has coercive and unprotected sexual relations with the perpetrator, which increase the risk of unwanted pregnancy. In such cases, the intention is to exercise additional control over the offended person and relegate them even more to a state of vulnerability and dependence. Further studies are necessary to describe, on a global scale, the extent of such violence and to achieve an adequate degree of scientific and clinical knowledge, which is informative for intervention and prevention.
