Pediatric oncologists have achieved commendable success in recent decades, especially with the help of multicentric research. Information Based Medicine is a model of individualized healthcare whereby patients receive specific treatment solutions, targeted to their specific disease states and their genetic and metabolic profiles, in order to ensure the best probability of recovery with the best short and long term quality of life (QL). From the patient's perspective, moving towards Information Based Medicine entails the storage, integration, and analysis of the data from various sources in nationwide networking systems. The final goal of Information-Based Medicine is to provide the right information in the right format to the right individual at the right time, and the Italian Association for Pediatric Hematology Oncology group is moving towards an era accustomed to Information Based Paediatric Oncology.
