Abstract
[Machine translation] The agri-food sector is currently opposed by extreme phenomena caused by climate change such as rising temperatures, increasingly prolonged periods of drought, followed by frequent events of heavy precipitation, but also by increasingly extensive and recurring fires., This situation presents agricultural businesses with increasingly difficult challenges. In addition to the catastrophic events mentioned above, it must be taken into account that the increase in temperatures causes a variation in crops in relation to the climatic conditions of the different latitudes. Mitigation and adaptation actions are urgently needed. This work refers to the latter - given the breadth of the topic - with particular attention to the most urgent or significant ones. Among these, the so-called “Nature-based Solutions” occupy a prominent place, i.e. adaptation methods based on natural effects and compatible with the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity. A particularly significant example is found in agroforestry, which constitutes an agronomic approach capable of combining trees and/or shrubs with agricultural crops on the same plot of land. By examining some paradigmatic cases, this contribution intends to highlight the role of agricultural enterprises in implementing sustainable practices to adapt to climate change. To this end, equitable management of resources is necessary, which also builds on the experiences of rural communities.
