Translated title of the contribution: [Machine translation] Migrations and local governance. The case of Novara.

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Chapter › peer-review

Abstract

[Machine translation] The strong and visible presence of foreigners has changed the balance of many provincial cities, creating new relational mosaics and making new government strategies necessary. The contribution examines, through an analytical-descriptive, representative, reflective approach and with field interviews, the new relationships between migrants and citizenship and the places where these are most incisive in the city of Novara. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between local governance and immigration and to the analysis of how the latter is inserted by the various stakeholders among the strategic axes of territorial development planning. The article is part of a line of studies of national interest on new relational, multiethnic and multicultural mosaics and represents one of the contributions deriving from multidisciplinary research conducted on an Italian scale.
