Abstract

[Machine translation] In this paper, I will review Cervantes' works transversely in search of the dreamlike motive, with special attention to their premonitive decline and their peculiarities in each text, which will inevitably lead me to reflect on the influence of the literary genre on the use and modes of dreamlike prescience. The comparison between the functions and treatment of dreams that do not announce the future and those that do, on the one hand, and, on the other, between these and non-dream prophecies, will highlight the peculiarities of dream premonitions; their projection against the background of the long tradition of artificial dreams in Spanish literature may help to understand the role they play in the work of Cervantes.
