Abstract

[Machine translation] What were the main political proposals on immigration and the European Union? The authors focused in particular on two issues: the attitude towards migration and towards the European Union. In this chapter, the results of an analysis of the electoral programs of the main parties competing in the Italian political elections on March 4, 2018 are presented. The authors first analyze the programs of the main parties: Democratic Party (PD), +Europe, Free and Equal (LeU), the centre-right coalition (Forza Italia, League, Brothers of Italy and Us with Italy) and the Five Star Movement (M5s). Subsequently, after presenting the election results, the same issues were analyzed within the so-called “government contract” drawn up and signed by the two political forces, M5S and Lega, which at the beginning of the legislature created a new and unprecedented majority.
