Abstract
[Machine translation] Starting from the lemma 'lasso' in Martín Alonso Pedraz's Medieval Spanish Dictionary (1986), we propose a lexicographic look attentive to the reasons for philology - as a study of texts in their linguistic identity, as well as in their tradition-transmission. In particular, the meaning and the (probable) metaphorical value of llaços/lazos are investigated in a famous passage from the Book of Cats, in the problematic comparison with the Latin source (Odo of Cheriton) - as a translator of the Latin forms reptilibus/reptilium.
