[Machine translation] The contribution explores how the metaphorical conceptualization of the experience of illness has evolved, over the centuries that separate the Roman cultural universe from ours, basing the analysis on two corpora of Latin and Italian literary texts. The study intends both to contribute to filling a gap in the research landscape on the subject, especially with regard to Latin, and, enrich existing extensive research with a reflection set by a, a different perspective, inherently diachronic, interlinguistic and intercultural,, who aspires to compare data relating to two different eras, languages and cultures,, highlighting not only their differences, but also the elements of continuity.
