Abstract
[Machine translation] Coinciding with the elections to the European Parliament, an important round of local elections also took place on Sunday, May 25, 2014. On the same day, in fact, a vote was taken for the election of mayors in 4087 municipalities and for the election of the presidents of the region and regional councils in Piedmont and Abruzzo. This chapter concerns the regional elections in Piedmont, which saw the centre-left candidate, Sergio Chiamparino, take hold, with more than 47% of votes and the equally clear victory of the Democratic Party as the first regional party. The chapter will introduce, in paragraph 2, the regional elections in Piedmont and comment on their results; in paragraph 3, the outcome of the 2014 Piedmontese regional elections will be compared with the results of the previous regional elections held in 2010, examining the differences in the vote for the various lists at the provincial level. Finally, in paragraph 4, the flow of votes in Piedmont between the 2013 and regional 2014 policies will be analyzed.
