Abstract
The present work is part of the historiographic investigations that, starting from the notion of literary Baroque, consider twentieth-century anthologies of seventeenth-century poets in an attempt to reconfigure the categories of Mannerism or Baroque to which they relate. In this perspective, the object of the analyses proposed here has been focused on J.-B. Chassignet’s Mespris and it is centred on an investigation that is also a response to Maxime Cartron’s studies, which often appear to be unconvincing from a theoretical point of view.
