Abstract
[Machine translation] The text presents the results of an excavation campaign, promoted by the Selinunte Archaeological Park, near the northern borders of the ancient city, in an area never previously subject to archaeological surveys. At the highest point of the Galera plateau, a few meters before the start of the homonymous necropolis, a stretch of the fortifications that delimited the city of Selinunte to the north until its destruction by the Carthaginians in 409 BC and a fortified gate came to light. The road that, after crossing the door, after crossing the necropolis, led to the cultivated countryside in the Selinunte hinterland has also been identified.
