Abstract
[Machine translation] Through the text, the arrangement and the video clips that form the background, music can evoke emotions and landscapes, express the position of an artist, tell and build the sense of a place. This research explores the relationship between Italian music of the last twenty years and environmentalism, analyzing how musical tracks tell specific or imaginary places and attempt to convey a greater sensitivity to the environment. Singers can openly take sides in local socio-environmental conflicts, disclose the problems of a region, or communicate greater attention to global issues.
