La costruzione dell'interiorità. Dall'identità fisica alla memoria autobiografica

Translated title of the contribution: [Machine translation] The construction of the interior. From physical identity to autobiographical memory

Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

[Machine translation] The book explores the themes of the construction and defense of personal identity. After starting from the theories to which all philosophical and psychological reflection on identity still refers - that is, those of John Locke and William James -, the text proposes a synthesis between Chomski-inspired developmental psychology, constructivism starting from the individual of Jean Piaget, the sociocultural perspective on development of Lev Vygotsky and John Bowlby's theory of attachment. In this theoretical framework, the volume draws on data from psychological sciences to reconstruct the trajectory that goes from the birth of self-consciousness linked to the body and emotions through the enrichment of the inner world, to the creation of an ego placed in time and rationalized as an autobiography. However, this ego is not a stable possession: it is rather something perennially precarious, for whose defense the individual continuously mobilizes all his resources.
