In this theoretical framework, the volume draws on data from psychological sciences to reconstruct the trajectory that goes from the birth of self-consciousness linked to the body and emotions through the enrichment of the inner world, to the creation of an ego placed in time and rationalized as an autobiography. However, this ego is not a stable possession: it is rather something perennially precarious, for whose defense the individual continuously mobilizes all his resources.
