Abstract
[Machine translation] Gramsci has always paid great attention, in the context of his existence, and of his production to Italian and European cultural phenomenons—investigated in all their aspects, from historical to sociological and so on—and to the protagonists who animate them., In the intervention, some relevant aspects of European culture are developed on which, Gramsci reflected: from Goethe to Dumas, from Dostoevsky to Ibsen's theater, from Kipling to the translations of the Grimm brothers' fairy tales. Through these reflections, he comes to argue that there is a 'European cultural awareness', a 'historical process that tends to a union and that there are many material forces that can only develop in this union', thus allowing nationalism to be overcome.
