Abstract
[Machine translation] With Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) we describe any violent behavior perpetrated by a partner or former partner. In addition to having significant negative consequences on health and quality of life, IPV can lead to femicide. A study by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (2014) found that 22% of the women interviewed had experienced physical/sexual violence by a partner, 43% psychological and 18% economic. In Italy, during the same period, an ISTAT survey photographed a similar situation (22.4% psychological violence by a partner, 13.6% physical/sexual, 11.8% during, pregnancy). The scientific literature of the last 10 years shows almost similar numbers. The objective of the presentation is to highlight the spread of the phenomenon in Piedmont by presenting the results regarding cases of violence against women intercepted by health facilities located in different provinces and the results of research on femicides that occurred in Turin from 1970 to 2020. In addition, the interdisciplinary project “PAUSE (Prevention of Assault Under Scientific Evidence)” created to combat interpersonal violence, focusing attention on the multidimensionality of violence and the actions implemented by the “Coordination of the Health Network for the reception and care of victims of sexual and domestic violence in the Piedmont Region” will be presented.
